By attunement Master initiates one’s crown, heart and chakras. Together, he also opens the third eye and throat chakras for channelizing Reiki. He is a link between the disciple and the everlasting and continuous universal life force energy. This is a spiritual experience done by the Master for initiating one into Reiki. It is a highly spiritual experience and is done when one decides to go for it and visits an expert. If you are thinking about why is a Reiki attunement necessary then you must think of the divine and highly spiritual nature of Reiki. This way, the disciple begins his or her journey into the unknown but desired highest level of consciousness. It is in fact a reaction to the inner voice of a person. This reaction through Reiki is not a chance but part of the universe’s bigger plan to move you into a higher state of being through energy healing. Attunement is regarding tuning into receiving the divine energy abundantly available in Nature to receive divine light and love through a spiritual healer. After attunement is done a person is much more capable of receiving far greater and higher energy in his or her body.

Once the process is done the person’s natural centers of energy begin vibrating at much high frequency than previously. He or she becomes receptive for higher conscious energy levels and ready to adapt to eternal messages from practitioners. This process is for ever and does not diminish or fade with time in any way. It is a true gift of love and light forever.

This process is not at all tiring like many people believe it to be. This is because there are a number of misconceptions regarding Reiki even in the present times although they are getting cleared more and more with time. In fact, it is a matter of a few minutes and is performed by Masters without any problem or difficulty to those being initiated. There are a number of practices among healers and spiritual practitioners which differ from each other but do not affect the disciple in any way. For example there are healers who ask the subject to remove all metallic objects from his or her body. This may include jewelry, shoes etc. This is not a universal rule in Reiki but some do it to ensure that metals do not interfere with the energy associated with the healing as this may diminish or alter the effects of energy being provided. To emphasize, removing or not removing the metal objects from one’s body does not affect the healing process in any way. This is purely optional and a matter of choice of the healing experts or practitioners. Another is drinking of water after the attunement process as it is believed to remove or eradicate toxins from the body.

The initialization process can also be done remotely or for the people receiving Reiki far away or located at large physical distance away from the healer. So there are slight variations from the standard procedure but they are not a hindrance in the channeling of energy by the Reiki healer.
