Reiki experienced a big moment when somebody tried to trademark Reiki throughout the world. This person tried to control Reiki by defining how people will use Reiki. On this development, people connected with Reiki came together to stop the individual from doing so.

In fact there are numerous Japanese Reiki techniques that were not known in the West till recently.
