Reasons For 108 Beads In A Mala

A rudraksh mala has 108 beads which have been given different meanings. But they seem to be defining reality or humans. At least, they are significant as they help us remember the mantras in their true essence. One is able to recite the mantras with devotion, sincerity and attention. The number of beads in a mala may not be exactly 108 and they can be fraction of 108 as well.

9 times 12: Both of these numbers have been said to have spiritual significance in many traditions. 9 times 12 is 108. Also, 1 plus 8 equals 9. That 9 times 12 equals 108.

Powers of 1, 2, and 3 in math: 1 to 1st power=1; 2 to 2nd power=4 (2x2); 3 to 3rd power=27 (3x3x3). 1x4x27=108

The popularity of rudraksh beads is immense in Asia. It is particularly famous in India. The significance of these beads is even documented in ancient Hindu literature and Shastras. It was very popular among Aryans and they were very knowledgeable regarding it. Similarly, Vedic literature is full of references to this holy bead. So, these beads were known to Indian for long. Many scientific studies have also been conducted to determine if they are according to the scientific school of thought and the researches were convinced regarding the powers of these beads. They researchers found them to have magnetic, electric inductive properties. Depending on the polarity and intensity of this induced magnetic field, Rudraksha beads transmits electrical and inductive impulses with opposing polarity and intensity. The scientific community considers the human body in terms of a complex bio-electronic circuit with a central nervous system controlling the body. By wearing these beads, the blood flow is regulated which reduces stress. It rejuvenates the body and reduces excess energy on neurotransmitters.

Properties

The human body is made up of Central Nervous System, Autonomous, Sympathetic & Para sympathetic Nervous System and various other Organ systems which are known as Bio Electronic circuit. The heart pumps blood to the brain and other parts of the body which results in the transmission of various impulses, which further results in movement of neurons, resulting in electrical impulses which is known as bio-electricity. This bio electricity is responsible for the transfer of information from the brain to the body.

Everything we see, hear, taste, think and feel depends on this flow which is caused by the difference in energy levels across the body. There is feeling of well-being as long as this flow remains normal and any disruption or obstruction in the flow of this bio electricity causes feelings of discomfort and diseases and there is a lack of feeling of well-being. But, there are factors such as stress which may disturb this flow and the body and mind does not function normally. In case of stress, the body sends stress signals to the CNS, resulting in increased neuron activity. This results in decreased comfort levels and we are unable to function at optimum levels. The blood flow is adversely affected and there are a number of diseases. But the rudraksh beads play an important role at this stage. They stabilize the heart beat as they work on the principle of dynamic polarity, similar to the functioning of magnets. When a bead is placed near the body, it exerts a balancing force on the heart to regulate if it does not function at normal levels. As a result, there is normal blood flow from the heart to various parts of the body and restores the body functioning.

The potential difference in various parts of the human body causes a flow of bio-electrical signal in the body. That is why the rudrakshas of different mukhs are important due to their factor of resistance and they oppose the bio-electrical impulses, generating current. This regulates the heart beat and stabilizes the impulses to the brain which results in positive chemicals in the mind and there is feel-good factor in us. The wearer is able to think better, more confident and poised. Different mukhi rudrakshas send different signals to the brain which affect different chemicals in the brain which have specific effects on the personality.

The rudraksh beads store electric energy and it is able to stabilize the bio-electric current which is measured in Farad. This is useful for controlling hyperactivity, palpitations of heart, streamlining heartbeat etc. As stress causes increased heartbeat, more hormone and CNS activity, there is difference in energy levels in the body, causing heightened bio-electric current. But rudraksh restores normal health and reduce the excess electric energy and regulating the flow by storing electric energy.

Rudrakshas have permanent magnetic properties which cause Inductive vibrations which explains why people feel better just by staying near it. These vibrations are measured in Henry or Volt Seconds/Ampere.

There has been a lot we come to hear regarding magnetic healing in recent times. They help people feel better and rejuvenated. The rudrakshas also have magnetic properties but they are better than magnets as they can change polarity. They have para-magnetic as well as dia-magnetic properties as well as dynamic polarity. In the human body, there are arteries and veins which carry blood. But, when the blood supply in the arteries and veins is reduced due to any reason, various diseases take roots. Since these pathways are responsible for carrying oxygen to different parts of the body and throwing off waste materials, a reduction in the flow of blood results in lesser supply of oxygen in different parts of the body as well as the accumulation of toxic material in the body, which is bound to cause diseases in the body. The circulation of blood in the body is the key to good health. Moreover, cells in the body have positive and negative charges just as magnets have. The passage way of blood is broadened when magnets are introduced because the poles of the magnet attract the poles of the cells and the pathway of blood is broadened, causing adequate and streamlined flow of blood. Once the flow of blood is restored, we feel cured, better, rejuvenated and energetic. But the polarity of magnet is fixed which means when a magnet is placed near a particular part of the body, only the arteries and veins with matching polarity are opened, which is not the case with rudrakshas which go much deeper into healing.

Rudraksh can change its polarity due to its dia-magnetism property – a property of any material to acquire temporary magnetic property when there is an external magnet. This polarity is opposite to the external field. There is natural magnetic field around the body due to blood circulation and heart beat which is especially present in the heart region. The bio-magnetism creates bio-magnetism which depends on the polarity of the induced magnetic field. The polarity of the rudraksh is opposite to the inducing field which causes widening of the arteries and veins and the wearer experienced healing and rejuvenation.

These beads also have anti-ageing properties because of the Dynamic Polarity factor which makes it far superior to magnets.
